Land of the Rising Sung

Currently, Sung lives in the Qingdao province of western China, which serves as the second main location of EDO BLOOD.  From ancient times, the province, situated on the coast of the Yellow Sea, has been a rich seaport and central hub of Chinese culture.  In his time, Sung had absolute control of the region, which increased his wealth and power far beyond that of any other warlord of his time.

In Qingdao, Sung has built a vast castle fortress within the Laoshan mountain range.  The construction of this castle took over 400 years and several generations of craftsmen gave their lives to see it finished.

Sung--always the fair ruler--has rewarded these crafstmen's service by allowing their descendants to continue serving at the castle at a generous salary, including room and board.

The highest tower in the castle overlooks the Yellow Sea and it's from this tower that Sensei Nakai, Liu Shen and Soro made their escape during the battle that almost caused Sung's destruction.

Mitsui was unimpressed at the sight of the castle when she first arrived--until she realized that most of the mountain was the castle.  Up to the time she left China, there were still areas of the castle she had not seen.

Sung's castle has sat, barren and unused for over 300 years and the mountain has reclaimed what Sung once commanded.  Though it can no longer be seen from the outside, the castle once spanned over fifty square miles--all within the mountain.
