Matsuo has his father to thank for the person he has become, for he has grown up just like him: an insecure bully who, while talented, has never quite been able to live up to his own impression of himself.  He’s pushed and shoved his way through life, just like his father, quick to answer any criticism with angry fists and a bad attitude.  He finally learns defeat when he meets someone who simply doesn’t have time to be bullied and is smart enough to do something about it.
