Daimyo Shimazu is one of the most powerful rulers in all of Japan.  He is respected and loved by his subjects and his samurai would happily die for him.  When he accepts Liu Shen onto his staff as Court Wizard, he thinks he knows what he’s getting--but he has no idea.  When he asks The Wizard to bring Kenji back to life after he’s killed in battle, he is only speaking out of his grief; he has no idea The Wizard can really do it.  When he does, The Daimyo gets back more than the life of his friend.  Much more.
